About You
To be considered for this role, you will possess;
- Certificate IV TAFE (or equivalent) in a human services-related field or relevant demonstrated experience.
- A current WA’s Drivers License
- A Satisfactory National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
- A valid First Aid Certificate and CPR
- A Working with Children’s Check
- Some services also require an NDIS Screening Check
Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of contemporary mental health frameworks.
- Previous experience in a human service-related field, preferably in mental health support.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and develop written materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage tasks effectively.
Desirable:
- Experience in a residential setting with individuals experiencing mental distress.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Lived experience of mental health recovery or as a family member of someone in recovery.
- Awareness of relevant government departments and community-based support agencies.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards such as LARU and MH Act.
Attitude:
- Positive attitude towards individuals experiencing mental distress.
- Commitment to upholding organizational values and principles.
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting recovery.
We have two vacant roles, both are part-time. One is offering 104.5 hours over 4 weeks, and the other is 127 hours over 4 weeks. Both rosters includes overnights and weekends.
We also have multiple casual positions available across our metro services, hours include overnights, and weekends.
About Community Care Unit
Based in Orelia, the Community Care Unit (CCU) is a state wide 20 bed facility, partnership with the Cyrenian House and the local Public Mental Health Services, that provides adults, who have a long history of experiencing mental distress and require intensive rehabilitation recovery services, a home-like environment for up to 18 months. We aim to provide a safe space, where everyone is welcomed and valued. We provide tailored support aimed at meeting the individual needs of our clients and enable them to pursue their recovery goals.
